First Question to Ponder

Since I don’t have my panels quite set up yet, I thought I’d throw out the first question. If you answer it via comment or emailing me, you can also indicate whether or not you’d like to be on the parent or professional panel (or both).

Question #1:

What is the book that has helped you the most in your journey as a parent (foster, birth or adopted) or as a professional?

I have LOTS of favorite adoption books:

Toddler Adoption: The Weaver's Craft by Mary Hopkins-Best

Adopting the Hurt Child and Parenting the Hurt Child by Gregory Keck and Regina Kupecky

Attaching in Adoption by Deborah Gray

Parenting with Love and Logic by Foster Cline and Jim Fay

Telling the Truh to Your Adopted or Foster Child by Betsy Keefer and Jayne Schooler

Talking With Young Children About Adoption by Mary Watkins and Susan Fisher

I would love to be part of your panel as a parent or expert or both! I adopted one of my children from foster care at age four. I am the author of the following adoption resources:

Welcome Home, Forever Child: A Celeration of Children Adopted as Toddlers, Preschoolers, and Beyond (children's book)

Adoption Awareness in School Assignments: A Guide for Parents and Educators (e-booklet)

Adoption Awareness: Handling Awkward Adoption Questions and Comments (e-booklet)

Family Day: Celebrationg Ethan's Adoption Anniversary (children's book - coming soon!)

I look forward to participating in lots of informative discussions!
